This is not the first time I have blogged about the latest watch brand from around the world. I have experienced America’s minimalistic style with Original Grain, London classic watches with SLVR&Co and now I’m off to Scotland, Edinburgh, with GENT Watches!
So who are GENT Watches?
GENT Watches was founded by two graduates from Heriot Watt University, Edinburgh. It was launched on Kickstarter in July 2016 and their campaign was successfully backed within a month! These watches were going like hot cakes on Kickstarter and I can see why.
So why start another watch company, aren’t there enough in the world already? Yes there, but the style and mission of GENT Watches is unique. The two young entrepreneurs behind GENT Watches wanted to create watches which would provide young professional gentleman a premium, luxurious stylish yet affordable watch to wear and personally I think they have achieved their mission.
“The vision is to be a brand which young men can relate to, with our products and marketing efforts created to reflect this. We want to provide you with the ability to customise your look in all aspects of your day-to-day life”
All of GENT Watches have an interchangeable strap that can be easily changed to fit any occasion whether by formal or casual. The wide range of staps available, from genuine leather to canvas, at GENT are very much affordable with the highest price strap at £14.99. Changing your wrist style from the boardroom to the bar could not be easier.
GENT Watches has three different watch collection with various styles; The Athos, The Porthos and The Aramis.
The Athos Collection
A minimalist silver plated stainless steel watch.
A minimalist rose gold plated stainless steel watch.
The Porthos Collection
A matte black sandblasted stainless steel chronograph watch. With the changeable straps you can create different looks for different occasion.
The Aramis Collection
A bold brushed stainless steel chronograph watch. This is the most sought after watch from the GENT collection.
Luckily for me, I was given chance to review one of the watches. I chose the Porthos Black along with the Genuine Black leather strap with silver buckle. To be honest, this is an absolutely gorgeous watch. I really wanted to add a black watch to my watch collection and this is really something.
When you pick up the watch, you do feel the weight of it and this something which I look for in watches. This is mainly because most premium and high end watches do weigh a considerable amount and when I picked up the Black Porthos, I knew GENT Watches were not messing about.
In terms of the technicality of the watch it has a
- 42mm Case Width
- 12mm Case Depth
- 22mm Lug
- 10ATM/100M Water Resistency
- Hardened Mineral Glass
- Citizen Miyota OS20 Japanese Quartz Movement
The watch does cover a good amount of your wrist but does not restrict the movement. For me, it fits perfectly and could not have asked for more. I have a small wrist and there are enough holes in the strap to support my wrist.
The packaging of the watch ooze luxury. The box is quite large and gives you that premium and luxurious look to it. Inside, you have an onyx pillow to protect your watch and also a mechanical pen to help adjust your watch to suit your wrist size.
Before I finish this post, GENT Watches also give 5% of their profit to two chosen charities. GENT watches are really the best!
The two charities they chosen are:
THE CAMPAIGN AGAINST LIVING MISERABLY, or CALM, is a registered charity, which exists to prevent male suicide in the UK. Nobody should be taking their own life, as everybody, especially young men, have the potential to do something great and have something worth living for
Prostate Cancer UK has a simple ambition – to stop men dying from prostate cancer. Prostate Cancer UK save the older men in our lives and help protect the young men of today in the future
One thing which you may have spotted I have not included in the post are the prices of the watches. I will not tell you them. I want you to be surprised!

I hope you have enjoyed this post and I would like to ask you, which GENT Watch do you like the most. Do let me know in the comment below!
