Wishodit the watch brand that keeps on giving and adding to their already awesome collection. The last time we done a review for the brand was the Hubbard, an iced out watch with a rainbow jeweled bezel. This time we are going to be reviewing the Wishdoit Racing F-150. New to their collection, this watch pays homage to the Ford F-150 truck, an icon American car. Let’s see if it will do it justice.

Unboxing of Wishdoit Racing F-150

First Impression

The packing has not changed and it has been the same for a while now. Opening the box, the red colour theme hits you in the face, in a good way. It is bold and bright, an attention seeker for sure. The stainless steel casing and black dial helps to tone it down but the Wishdoit Racing F-150 is vibrant. There is a lot going on the dial but it is not overwhelming and you will not get lost following the hands and sub dials. So far, we like it!

Dial

Packed with features, let us start with the main purpose of the watch, the chronograph. The stop watch is located at the 12 o’clock position and it moves in 1/10 increment. This sub dial colour theme has been split into two, a white colour at the top with black index for the measurement. Visibility is fine for the stop watch and the colour contrast well against the main black background. In terms of accuracy and reaction, the stopwatch works well. It stops without any delay or lags. When resetting, it does go back to its original position.

Moving on to the second sub dial, it is huge. It has a three arrow hand rotating with the main one coloured in a red tip. The same colour pattern from the stop watch has been used, black and white, and given its size, you will not miss the second hand or numerals.

Located at the 9 o’clock position, you have the minute sub dial. A little more subtle compared to the rest but effective in its job. Works in tandem with the stopwatch and legibility is great.

The index on the Wishdoit Racing F-150 is similar on the previous models. You have an outer index with small batons, but moving towards the center, you have larger batons and numerals to help read the time. Both the larger batons and numbers have been give a luminous coating.

Something you may miss if the red arrow with the F-150 branding pointing towards it at the 3 o’clock position is the date window. It is on the smaller size, and legibility is not bad. Using a white background and black coloured numbers do help with legibility.

Finally, the hands are thick arrow design with a silver colour and luminous tip. This is needed as they will help you focus on the time reading and cut out the noise. The second arrow is all red with a luminous tip.

Casing

The tonneau casing has not changed from the other reviews we have done. We are looking 42 by 50mm with a width of 14.8mm. The watch sits well on the wrist and the slight curve on the casing ensures that there are no gaps between the lugs. This is also helped with the tonneau shape of the casing.

Polished stainless 316L stainless steel has been used at surface and back casing. which looks well on this watch. Nothing too outstanding per say.

With Mineral crystal glass used, glare is at its minimum, but a Sapphire glass would have added a bit more toughness and durability to the lens, one to look out for in the future.

The magic is at the back of the casing. Engraved is the iconic F-150 truck, glaring at you in its might stance. However, we are a little picky. Compared to the GT Chrono, the design seems to be have been lasers on and you cannot feel the curves and bumps as to the Ford GT one. Little disappointed, but it does not affect the dial and front appearance.

The crown is large in size and the pushers are of normal size. The pushers are a little soft and the ‘click’ sound is minimal. We like to hear the click when we use the pushers.

Movement

Powering this beast is a Seiko VD57 Quartz Movement. We have come across this movement multiple times and it is reliable. Accuracy is to within plus or minus 20 seconds per month, which is considered to be on par for this type of movement.

The lifetime of the battery around 3 years, but this will be subject to use of the chronograph.

Strap

Fluorine rubber strap has been used, on the Wishdoit Racing F-150 If you do not like the black strap, there are other colours available to purchase from their website. The strap fits and wraps around the wrist very well and comfort is great. There are enough holes for smaller wrist and the strap is inter changeable. No quick release pins, which is a slight disappointment.

We like the cuts at near the lugs. It gives it an edgy feel and it reflects the spirit of the F-150 truck.

Buy, Shortlist or Avoid?

As always, let’s find the price of the Wishdoit Racing F-150. This watch retails at £179, and it is affordable. Given the components used to make the watch and the features, this price is reasonable. For us, this watch should be on the buy list. It works well, the chronograph is accurate and it comes with an affordable price tag.
